Content:
The course consists of discussing the book “Mobile Learning: Structures, Agency, Practices” written by Pachler, Bachmair and Cook published this year by Springer. The book provides the readers with 15 chapters that are organized into the following three parts: Big picture and examples; Mobile devices as resources for learning Socio-cultural ecological analysis of the mobile complex; Perspectives for Mobile learning. The book covers among others, core issues in mobile learning, mobile devices as educational resources, socioeconomic approaches to mobile learning, scenarios promoting mobile learning, ubiquitous mobility and its implications for pedagogy, and the digital divide.
Working methodology
Participants read the assigned chapters for each one of the reading sessions. Each one of the participants is responsible for presenting two chapters of the book (a power point presentation) and is also responsible for organizing the discussion of one reading sessions at least.
Examination
The examination consists of writing an essay (8-10 pages), where participants illustrate how ideas, concepts or examples presented in the book relate to its own research problem. PhD students may kindly ask their supervisors if they can use this seminar as a Ph D course and get credits for it.

June 17 chapters 13, 14 and 15
Prerequisites: to be registered as a Ph D student.
Adobe Connect will be used so as participants located outside Stockholm have the opportunity to attend the course at distance.
